Dr. Jens Kreinath is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at Wichita State University, specializing in ritual theory, interreligious relations, and the anthropology of Islam. His research examines religious practices in Turkey, particularly interfaith dynamics in Hatay province, where he studies shared pilgrimage sites and cultural coexistence.
Research interests include the aesthetics of religious practice, semiotics of ritual, and the impact of interfaith musical performances on community relations. His current project analyzes the Antakya Choir of Civilizations as a catalyst for democratization and conflict resolution.
Publications explore ritual transformations, saint veneration, and post-disaster religious resilience. Methodological innovations include photographic ethnography and actor-network theory applications in ritual studies.
