Jens Burkert is a PartTime Lecturer at the Department of German Medieval and Early Modern Studies at RWTH Aachen University. He has held various academic positions since 2010, including a scientific employee role at RWTH Aachen (2010–2016) and a Referent at the Chair of Medieval German Literature at the University of Regensburg (August 2016–February 2018). His research focuses on medieval German literature, philology, and cultural history.

Burkert's work centers on medieval German lyric poetry, particularly the oeuvre of Walther von der Vogelweide. Research Projects: He continues projects such as updating Walther von der Vogelweide's bibliography and studying church criticism in Middle High German poetry. Despite teaching commitments, he maintains scholarly engagement with these topics.
