Jenny Öhman is a Researcher affiliated with Lund University, Sweden, and a member of the Birgit Rausing Centre for Medical Humanities (BRCMH). She holds teaching roles at the Medical Programme and serves as an Adjunct lecturer in Family Medicine and Community Medicine. Her work bridges Medical Humanities and Transplantation research, focusing on non-invasive diagnostics for post-heart transplant complications.
Research Interests: Öhman's work spans interdisciplinary studies in Medical Humanities, with a strong emphasis on Heart Transplantation, microRNA, and Transcriptomics. Her recent projects explore biomarker development for acute cellular rejection detection, combining molecular biology with clinical cardiology.
Articles: Öhman has contributed to high-impact publications in journals like Canadian Journal of Cardiology, Transplantation, and Cardiovascular Research. Her 2020 study on HEARTBiT proposed transcriptomic signatures for rejection monitoring, while 2017 works investigated microRNA's role in graft rejection and vascular permeability.
Projects: As Principal Investigator (PI) of the upcoming Storytelling - from cell to society project (Feb 2025–Dec 2025), she leads a multidisciplinary network addressing biological and societal narratives in medical research.
