Jenny Knox is a Senior Lecturer at The City Law School, City St George's, University of London, where she joined in 2022. She leads the Analytical Professional Skills and Legal Practice Research Project modules on the Solicitors' Practice Programme (PGDip/LLM). She also serves as an external examiner for LLB, PGDip, and LLM programmes through Advance HE's Register of External Examiners.
Her educational background includes a PhD in Law from Queen Mary University of London, an LLM in Human Rights Law with distinction from Queen's University Belfast, and an LLB with first-class honours from University College London.
Jenny's research and teaching focus on innovative legal education, including technology-enhanced learning, case-based pedagogy, and the development of professional and employability skills for future legal practitioners. Her work bridges legal education theory and practice, with a socio-legal interest in how legal knowledge and skills are mobilised in professional and activist contexts.
Her publications highlight a strong commitment to improving legal pedagogy. The two recent articles focus on embedding employability skills in legal training and interdisciplinary engagement with legal fiction. These works reflect broader interests in curriculum innovation, legal professionalism, and the role of narrative in legal understanding.
- Principal Fellow of Advance HE (PFHEA)
Jenny actively contributes to academic development by mentoring colleagues applying for Advance HE fellowships and assessing fellowship applications at all levels. Her professional activities include editorial roles in developing Criminal Law and Litigation content at BPP University Law School, and she has presented at national conferences on legal writing groups and anti-austerity legal mobilisation, indicating engagement with both educational and socio-political dimensions of law.
Jenny’s work as an educational designer across apprenticeship, solicitor, and barrister training programmes demonstrates a comprehensive impact on legal professional development. While no formal lab or research team is mentioned, her leadership in module design and pedagogical innovation suggests a collaborative, team-oriented approach to curriculum development.
