Dr. Jenny Dunn is a Lecturer in Parasite Ecology at Keele University's School of Life Sciences, specializing in avian parasite and pathogen ecology. She obtained her PhD from the University of Leeds and previously served as a Conservation Scientist at the RSPB for six years.
Her research explores:
- Host-parasite interactions in avian systems
- Wildlife malaria epidemiology and vector dynamics
- Human impacts on parasite transmission
- Community ecology of host-parasite-vector systems
She currently chairs the EU COST-funded Wildlife Malaria Network and leads multiple research projects on haemosporidian parasites. Her lab employs molecular diagnostics, field sampling, and ecological modeling techniques.
Current PhD advisees include Claudio Navarrete, Oliver Nuttall, and Louise Cook working on malaria parasite diversity and vector competence. She has secured funding from the Royal Society and EU COST program.
