Jennifer T Keating is a Teaching Professor and Writing in the Disciplines Specialist at the William S. Dietrich II Institute for Writing Excellence, University of Pittsburgh. She holds affiliations with Pitt Cyber, European Studies Center, Global Studies Office, and the Hill District Community Engagement Center. Her work focuses on interdisciplinary pedagogy, curriculum design, and the intersection of technology with human rights and conflict zones.
Educated at the University of Pittsburgh (Ph.D. English & Cultural Studies) and University of Rochester (B.A. English & History), she specializes in writing practices across disciplines. Her research explores AI ethics, post-conflict art, and digital humanities.
Recent grants include Pitt Cyber Accelerator Grants (2021/2024), Hewlett International Grant (2022), and multiple European Studies Center grants. She co-authored AI & Humanity (MIT Press) and has published in IEEE, ACM, and Critical Quarterly.
Awarded the Electus Fellowship and Carnegie Mellon’s Wimmer Fellowship, she teaches courses like Writing as Witness: South Africa and Digital Humanity, emphasizing empathy-driven critical inquiry.
