Jennifer Sturge is an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Maryland (UMD) and Director of the School Library Endorsement Program at Antioch University. She holds leadership roles in professional organizations, serving as former president of the Maryland Association of School Librarians and chair of the supervisor section of the American Association of School Librarians. Her advocacy focuses on advancing school library services, particularly for LGBTQ+ students, and she contributes to the field through her editorial role at Knowledge Quest.
Dr. Sturge’s research emphasizes diversity, equity, and inclusive design in school library collections. Her work intersects youth experience, digital practices, and accessibility within Library and Information Science. She actively promotes policy changes to strengthen library resources and educator training.
Recipient of the Lilead Fellowship, her professional contributions include curriculum development, policy advocacy, and collaborative projects with state and national education bodies.
