معرفی
Jennifer Sherr, MD, PhD, is a Professor in Pediatrics (Endocrinology) at Yale School of Medicine. She specializes in pediatric endocrinology, with a focus on type 1 diabetes (T1D). Her clinical and research work emphasizes improving diabetes technology, such as automated insulin delivery systems and continuous glucose monitoring. She leads clinical trials, including the TrialNet consortium to prevent T1D progression and preserve beta-cell function. Dr. Sherr’s research also explores glycemic control during pregnancy and the impact of physical activity on blood glucose levels in adolescents with T1D.
Education & Training:
- BA in Biology, Rutgers College (2000)
- MD, UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (2003)
- PhD in Investigative Medicine, Yale Graduate School of Arts & Sciences (2011)
- Pediatric Residency and Endocrinology Fellowship, Yale School of Medicine
Research Interests: Dr. Sherr’s work bridges clinical care and technological innovation to reduce the burden of T1D. Her research spans diabetes technology optimization, clinical trial leadership (e.g., T1D Exchange Steering Committee), and improving glycemic control in high-risk populations, including pregnant individuals and young children. She is a co-author of international consensus guidelines on diabetes technology and perioperative management.
Awards & Honors:
- Young Physician Scientist Award (2016)
- American Diabetes Association Young Investigator Travel Grant (2012)
- Translational Science Abstract Award (2012)
Grants & Trials:
- Principal Investigator for TrialNet’s T1D RELAY and TrialNet TOPPLE studies
- NIH-funded research on glycemia across pregnancy
- Hydroxychloroquine in Stage 1 T1D clinical trials
Labs & Teams: Collaborates with the Diabetes Research Center and pediatric endocrinology teams at Yale, focusing on translational research and clinical care integration.
