Associate Professor Jennifer Schumann is a forensic pharmacologist and toxicologist at Monash University’s Department of Forensic Medicine and Head of the Drug Intelligence Unit at the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine. She holds a PhD in Forensic Medicine (2011) and a BSc(Hons) in Pharmacology (2006), both from Monash University. Her research focuses on drug-related harms, public health policy, and translational research on substance misuse and overdose. She has led projects like EDNA (Emerging Drugs Network of Australia) and contributed to drug-checking guidelines. Jennifer is Vice President of the Forensic and Clinical Toxicology Association (FACTA) and Editor of TIAFT Bulletin. Awards include the 2019 Churchill Fellowship and AFAS Fellowship. She supervises PhD students and collaborates internationally on drug surveillance and injury prevention.

Research Interests:

Her research has influenced Australian policy through media engagement and guideline development.
