Dr. Jennifer Rodger is a Professor in the School of Biological Sciences at The University of Western Australia and holds a Senior Research Fellow position at the Perron Institute for Neurological and Translational Sciences (2018–2022). She specializes in neurobiology, molecular biology, and regenerative neuroscience, with a focus on brain plasticity and the therapeutic applications of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS). Her work addresses neurological disorders, myelin repair, and the neurobiological mechanisms underlying depression and learning.
Education:
- BSc. Hons. in Biochemistry, University of Bath, UK (1993)
- PhD in Molecular Neuroscience, University of Paris VI (1996), focusing on syntaxin genes in long-term potentiation (LTP) and learning.
Research Interests: Dr. Rodger’s research integrates molecular, physiological, and theoretical approaches to understand brain plasticity. Key areas include:
