Jennifer Roberts serves as a Lecturer in the Technology, Design & Technical Education department at Utah State University Eastern, teaching Nursing Assistant courses in Price, Utah. With over 25 years of frontline healthcare experience spanning emergency medical services and hospice care, she bridges critical practical knowledge with academic instruction.
Her career trajectory began after graduating from Carbon High School in Price, Utah, where she immediately entered the workforce as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B). She dedicated seven years to home health and hospice care while concurrently serving Carbon County Ambulance, later advancing to Registered Nurse (RN) and EMT-Intermediate Ambulance (EMT-IA) credentials during her 18-year tenure with the ambulance service.
Roberts’ teaching expertise centers on Emergency Medicine and Geriatrics, with specialized focus on Hospice Care protocols. Her research examines Community healthcare integration, specifically analyzing operational relationships between Prehospital care providers and hospital/long-term care staff to optimize patient handoff systems.
Professional recognition includes:
- Health Science Division’s Outstanding Postsecondary Teacher Award (2024) from ACTE
She maintains an active teaching load across semesters, instructing multiple sections of TENA 1000 (Nursing Assistant) and HEAL 1000 (Certified Nursing Assistant) courses since Spring 2023 through projected Fall 2024 offerings, directly preparing students for clinical certification and emergency response roles.
