Jennifer Reynolds is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Research in the Department of Geological Oceanography at the University of Alaska Fairbanks' College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences. Her research focuses on marine geology, seafloor mapping, and benthic habitat analysis with applications to Alaska's marine ecosystems. She holds a Ph.D. in Geological Sciences from Columbia University (1995), an M.A. from the same institution (1990), and a B.A. in Earth Science from Dartmouth College (1985).

Her current research includes the Alaska Coral and Sponge Initiative, Kachemak Bay benthic habitat studies, and investigations into submarine volcanism and seafloor colonization post-eruptions. She collaborates extensively with NOAA, Alaska Department of Fish & Game, and academic partners on habitat mapping and fisheries management. Key projects involve applying geological insights to deep-sea coral conservation and understanding tectonic processes in the Aleutian region.
Dr. Reynolds has advised M.S. students Amanda Blackburn (Oceanography) and Sean Rooney (Fisheries), and collaborates on grants from NOAA and other federal agencies. Her work bridges geological and ecological domains, informing both scientific understanding and resource management policies.
