Jennifer L. Rexford serves as Provost and the Gordon Y.S. Wu Professor in Engineering at Princeton University, holding a primary appointment as Professor of Computer Science within the School of Engineering and Applied Science. She joined the faculty in 2005 after eight years as a researcher at AT&T Labs and chaired the Department of Computer Science from 2015.
Her academic credentials include a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University (1991) and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Michigan (1996).
Rexford's research centers on advancing computer networking to establish a trustworthy Internet infrastructure, with significant contributions in network security, protocol design, and distributed systems. Her work bridges theoretical rigor with real-world deployment, focusing on societal impacts of network reliability and security.
