Jennifer Hong, MD, is an Associate Professor at the Geisel School of Medicine, Dartmouth College, with dual appointments in the Department of Surgery and Molecular and Systems Biology. A clinically active stereotactic and functional neurosurgeon, she combines translational research with interdisciplinary approaches to address clinical challenges in peripheral nerve regeneration and epilepsy.
- Education: MD from Stanford University School of Medicine; BA from Princeton University
- Key Research Areas: Peripheral nerve surgery, spatial transcriptomics, AAV tropism, nervous system regeneration, and extracellular matrix analysis in tumor microenvironments
Her recent publications span neurosurgery, emergency medicine, pediatrics, and hematology, reflecting her interdisciplinary focus on clinical applications of ultrasound-guided procedures, diagnostic imaging, and equity in medical training systems. While no explicit scientific awards are listed, her work involves significant grant-funded projects.
Grant-funded projects include:
- Whole-animal high-resolution imaging of AAV tropism for the nervous system (1R21 NS130139-01)
- Rapid intraoperative fluorescence assessment of nerve damage (1R21 NS124150-01A1)
- Understanding brain extracellular matrix in tumor microenvironments (5P20 GM130454-05)
