Jennifer Hames is an Associate Clinical Professor and Director of the ND Psychological Services Center at the University of Notre Dame. She oversees clinical training for doctoral students in the clinical psychology Ph.D. program, specializing in empirically supported interventions and suicide risk assessment. Her research focuses on suicidal behavior, depression, and the implementation of evidence-based practices in telehealth settings.
Dr. Hames earned her Ph.D. from Florida State University and a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame. Her work bridges clinical supervision, telepsychology adaptation, and the prevention of self-aggressive behaviors through interpersonal and cognitive-behavioral frameworks.
Her research interests include the impact of social exclusion on suicide risk, insomnia's role in loneliness, and the validation of acute suicidal affective disturbance. Recent publications highlight innovations in telesupervision during the pandemic and the application of interpersonal theory to clinical assessment tools.
Dr. Hames does not admit graduate students but actively trains clinicians through the Psychological Services Center. Her contributions emphasize bridging traditional clinical practices with modern telehealth challenges while advancing suicide prevention methodologies.
