Jennifer Gill

Jennifer Gill is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where she leads a research laboratory focused on melanoma biology while maintaining a clinical practice in dermatology.

Her research investigates how melanoma tumors rewire their metabolism to support progression, immune evasion, and distant metastasis. She combines molecular biology, biochemistry, and in vivo human studies to explore three key areas: the role of the enzyme GAPDHS in melanoma metastasis; the impact of tumor metabolism on therapeutic response and patient outcomes; and leveraging clinical-translational studies to uncover melanoma biology.

Publications highlight her expertise in developmental biology and cell signaling, spanning studies on transcription factors (e.g., Snail, Meis1), microRNA regulation, and Wnt signaling in stem cells. These works inform her current cancer biology research.
