معرفی
Jennifer Giffin is a Research Fellow at the School of Biological Sciences, University of East Anglia. Her work focuses on developmental biology, molecular mechanisms in tissue induction, and skeletal development, particularly in avian and mammalian models. She leads a British Heart Foundation-funded project investigating cardiovascular development and disease through cis-regulatory elements. Her research explores placode formation in embryonic chicken eyes and the role of gene expression in skeletal patterning.
Key research interests include understanding microenvironmental influences on tissue differentiation, gene expression dynamics during embryogenesis, and translational studies on skeletal and cardiovascular systems. Her interdisciplinary approach integrates molecular biology, embryology, and advanced imaging techniques like ultrasonography to study reproductive and developmental processes in livestock.
Collaborative projects include work with Prof. A. Münsterberg on cardiovascular development and earlier studies on testicular development in ram lambs, linking ultrasonographic markers with histological outcomes. Her publications reflect expertise in developmental signaling pathways, metastatic mechanisms in cancer, and comparative vertebrate biology.
Grants: Active project (2024–2026) funded by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) investigating novel cis-regulatory elements in cardiovascular disease.
Future work includes expanding studies on placode-driven tissue induction and applying genomic approaches to skeletal development across vertebrate species.
