Jennifer Ellen Posey, M.D., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular & Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. She holds dual board certifications in Internal Medicine and Medical Genetics and Genomics. Her research focuses on elucidating genetic etiologies of complex diseases, including Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), dual molecular diagnoses in rare conditions, and monogenic forms of diabetes. She leads a translational research program bridging clinical genetics and genomic discovery.
Her honors include the Chao Physician-Scientist Award (2016) and the BCM 'That's the Way' Award. She collaborates with the Baylor-Hopkins Center for Mendelian Genomics and the Rare and Atypical DIAbetes NeTwork (RADIANT) consortium. She is funded by NIH Grant K08 HG008986 for genomic analyses of adult-onset diseases.
Dr. Posey’s clinical practice includes adult genetic consultations at the Harris Health System Adult Genetics Clinic. Her research integrates genomic methods like exome sequencing to identify molecular mechanisms underlying rare and complex disorders, with a focus on multilocus pathogenic variation and actionable clinical insights.
