Jennifer El-Sherif is a Professor in the Sport and Movement Science Department at Salem State University. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses including SMS 167-168 (Game Theory & Practice), SMS 177 (Introduction to Teaching Physical Education), and SMS 780 (Elementary Physical Education Methods). With a Springfield College background, she has extensive K-12 teaching experience across public/private institutions nationally.
- Research Focus: Physical education reform, student participation enhancement, and adult physical activity engagement
- Professional Memberships: American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD); Massachusetts Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (MAHPERD)
- Leadership: Coordinator of the activity portion of the FASST program
Her scholarship explores participatory approaches in physical education, with peer-reviewed publications in Strategies: Journal for Physical and Sport Educators. Recent presentations examine student-centered pedagogy, physical education evolution, and inclusive teaching strategies. She contributes to undergraduate research symposia and professional conferences nationally.
