Jennifer Ballenger

Dr. Jennifer Ballenger is an Assistant Professor of Youth and Family Ministries at Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU), affiliated with the School of Christian Ministry. She holds a B.A. in English/Secondary Education from MVNU, an M.A. in Spiritual Formation from Northwest Nazarene University, and a Doctor of Ministry from Nazarene Theological Seminary. Professional Experience:

• Assistant Professor of Youth and Family Ministries – MVNU (2020–present)
• Associate Pastor for Children, Families, and Campus Pastor – Newark Church of the Nazarene (2001–2020)

Research & Focus: Her work centers on youth and family ministry, spiritual formation, and pastoral leadership, informed by over two decades of congregational experience. She actively contributes to the Nazarene Children’s Leadership Network as a board member.

Awards:

• Recipient of the Distinguished Dissertation Award from Nazarene Theological Seminary.

Additional Roles: She is involved in the Chapel Renovation Campaign at MVNU and holds Ephesians 3:14-21 as her favorite scripture, emphasizing spiritual empowerment and communal unity.
