Jenifer Shafer

Jenifer Shafer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Colorado School of Mines, specializing in nuclear chemistry and radiochemistry. Her work bridges fundamental and applied research in f-element chemistry, with a focus on nuclear security and detection technologies.

Her research interests include:

• Solid-state and solution chemistry of f-block elements
• Liquid-liquid separations for nuclear applications
• Ultra-trace effluent detection from clandestine nuclear facilities
• Radiochemistry in nuclear diplomacy contexts
