Jelena Dunjic

Jelena Dunjic is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geography, Tourism and Hotel Management within the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Novi Sad. She holds a doctoral degree in Geography, defended in 2020 with a dissertation on 'Multi-criteria analysis of the position and sustainability of regional waste management centers in Vojvodina.'

• Education: Graduated (2012), Master's thesis (2013), and PhD (2020) at the Department of Geography, Tourism and Hotel Management, University of Novi Sad.

Her research focuses on urban ecology, urban climate, sustainable development, and waste management. Recent work explores thermal comfort in urban environments, the impact of socio-economic factors on waste generation, and long-term air temperature dynamics in Vojvodina. Her publications highlight interdisciplinary approaches to sustainable urban planning and environmental policy in Central and Southeast Europe.

Key projects include the IPA Cross-Border Co-Operation Programme Croatia-Serbia (2019-2022) focusing on energy efficiency in urban environments, and the Serbian Ministry of Education project on 'Transformations of the Geospace of Serbia.'

She serves as a technical editor for the International Scientific Journal Geographica Pannonica and is affiliated with the Serbian Geographical Society, International Association for Urban Climate (IAUC), and International Society of Biometeorology (ISB).
