Jeffrey Yoshimi

Jeffrey Yoshimi is a Professor of Philosophy and Cognitive Science at the University of California, Merced, where he joined as a founding faculty member in 2004. His research focuses on the structure of consciousness, its neural correlates, and computational modeling using neural networks and dynamical systems theory. He also explores visualizations to enhance scientific reasoning, education, and citizen science initiatives. His interdisciplinary work has led to collaborations across diverse fields and the publication of five books and numerous articles.

Recent publications include The Open Dynamics of Braitenberg Vehicles (MIT Press) and Gaming Cancer (MIT Press), which highlight his contributions to cognitive science and innovative approaches to medical research through gamification.
