Jeffrey Swindle

Jeffrey Swindle is currently a College Fellow & Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at Harvard University. Beginning summer 2025, he will assume the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminology, Law & Society and Sociology (courtesy) at the University of California, Irvine.

His educational background includes:

Dr. Swindle's research critically examines the global diffusion of ideas and their behavioral impacts, with concentrated focus on liberal and illiberal frameworks surrounding violence, gender, race, and migration. His work bridges cultural sociology and transnational inequality studies through rigorous mixed-methods approaches.

His award-winning scholarship includes:

• 'Pathways of Global Cultural Diffusion: Mass Media and People's Moral Declarations about Men's Violence against Women' (American Sociological Review)
• Collaborative publications in Social Forces, International Migration Review, and Demography
