Jeffrey Shenton

Jeffrey Shenton serves as Assistant Professor of Anthropology and Chair of the Linguistics Program at Centre College, where he joined the faculty in 2019.

His educational qualifications are as follows:

• BA in English and French from the University of Pennsylvania
• MA in cultural anthropology from Vanderbilt University
• PhD in cultural anthropology from Vanderbilt University

Dr. Shenton's research spans cultural anthropology, environmental anthropology, cultural and political ecology, cognitive anthropology, and the anthropology of religion, with a regional focus on indigenous Latin America. His work integrates theoretical and empirical approaches to understand human-environment interactions and cultural systems, emphasizing indigenous knowledge frameworks and ecological relationships.
