Jeffrey Rogers Hummel is Professor of Economics at San José State University, specializing in monetary theory and U.S. economic history. His research examines central banking, sovereign debt sustainability, and historical analysis of the American Civil War.
Hummel critically analyzes monetary policy frameworks including Taylor Rules and inflation targeting. His publications warn of structural federal debt risks from entitlement programs.
