Jeffrey Plumlee

Jeffrey Plumlee is an Assistant Professor and Fisheries Specialist at Louisiana State University's College of Agriculture, affiliated with Louisiana Sea Grant and the Department of Renewable Natural Resources. His research examines coastal ecosystem dynamics through fisheries ecology, habitat productivity, and climate change impacts.

Using biogeochemical tracers and movement ecology approaches, Plumlee investigates how environmental changes affect species like bull sharks, sheepshead, and reef-associated fishes. His work informs sustainable fishery management and novel species development.

Plumlee holds a PhD in Ecology from UNC Chapel Hill and MS/BS degrees from Texas A&M University. His extensive fieldwork includes studies across Gulf of Mexico estuaries and artificial reef systems.
