Jeffrey Min-In Yau is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine. His research focuses on understanding the neural mechanisms underlying sensation and perception, particularly through touch as a model system.
He investigates principles of perceptual and neural processing that unify the senses, sensory system interactions, and dynamic modulation of brain network connectivity across tasks and attention states. His lab employs methodologies such as functional neuroimaging, noninvasive brain stimulation, computational modeling, and psychophysics.
Research highlights include studies on haptic shape perception, sensory compensation, and tactile cue localization. The Yau Lab at Baylor College of Medicine collaborates with teams to explore how sensory cues are represented in primate and human nervous systems. For direct engagement, he invites participation in ongoing studies or lab initiatives.
