Jeffrey M. Herbener is the Chair and Professor of Economics at Grove City College. His academic work focuses on monetary theory, business cycles, capital theory, and the Austrian School of Economics.
- Education: Ph.D. and M.S. in Economics from Oklahoma State University; B.S. in Economics from Nebraska Wesleyan University
- Courses Taught: American Economic History, Austrian Economics, Economics Colloquium, Financial Markets and Institutions, Principles of Macroeconomics
Herbener's research examines the intersection of time preference theory, cost theory, and asset valuation through an Austrian lens. His publications analyze historical monetary policy failures and methodological critiques within economic theory.
The six selected publications span topics from cost theory (2017) to debates about pure time preference theory (2011-2013), including analyses of Federal Reserve policies during the Great Depression (2014) and collaborative work on valuation theory (2016).
