Jeffrey L. Weaver, OD, MBA, MS, FAAO, FACHE, is the Interim Dean and Professor at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry within Drexel University. He holds advanced degrees including a PhD Candidate from Liberty University, MBA from Drury University, and multiple BS/OD qualifications. His clinical specialty focuses on Environmental/Occupational Vision. Weaver has served in leadership roles including Missouri Optometric Association President (2011-2012) and maintains certifications as a Fellow with multiple professional optometry organizations.
His research spans optometry education, military vision readiness, occupational vision standards, and public health applications. Notable publications address burnout in optometry, humanitarian missions in education, and vision readiness for U.S. Reserve Forces. Weaver has received prestigious awards including the Legion of Merit from the U.S. Army and the James A. Boucher Award for interdisciplinary healthcare excellence.
With a 40-year career in optometry, his professional activities include editorial board roles for Optometric Clinical Practice, leadership in VOSH International, and distinguished service in both civilian and military healthcare sectors.
