Jeffrey Johnston is a Lecturer at McGill University's Schulich School of Music, teaching jazz piano and combo performance. An acclaimed performer-composer, he has collaborated with jazz luminaries including John Abercrombie and Kenny Wheeler, and scored for film and television.
His creative research explores the intersection of jazz idioms with orchestral traditions, exemplified by his Terra Nova suite blending jazz trio with string orchestra. He serves on the board of the Screen Composers Guild of Canada.
