Jeffrey Harris is an Associate Professor (Teaching Stream) at York University's Lassonde School of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and serves as the Director of Common Engineering & BSc Science. His work focuses on curriculum development for first-year engineering and general science programs, with innovations in experiential learning, flipped classrooms, and educational technology integration.
Research interests center on engineering education, particularly qualitative and mixed-methods studies on student identity formation, diversity equity and inclusion (DEI), and STEM outreach. His recent publications examine equity-oriented mentorship, competency-based assessment, and socially-mediated inclusion dynamics in engineering education.
Jeff is actively involved in the Canadian Engineering Education Association and has presented at major conferences like ASEE. He teaches courses spanning engineering professionalism (MECH 2112), thermofluids lab (MECH 3504), and graduate-level pedagogy (MECH 6506).
