Jeffrey Goldthorp

Jeffrey Goldthorp is a Visiting Professor in the Computer Science Department at the University of Mary Washington, where he teaches courses in coding, computer ethics, and artificial intelligence. His research and professional expertise span cybersecurity, telecommunications risk management, information and communications technology, systems engineering, and critical infrastructure protection. He has held leadership roles in both academic and industry settings.

Goldthorp earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University. Before joining UMW, he served as a telecommunications technology and policy executive at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), specializing in complex technical and policy challenges. He also held a General Manager position at Telcordia Technologies, leading global business units in delivering innovative solutions to cross-domain problems.
