Jeffrey DeSimone is a Professor of the Practice of Economics and Director of the Duke Economic Analytics Lab (DEAL) at Duke University's Trinity College of Arts & Sciences since 2022. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University (1998). His research focuses on policy evaluation, particularly examining impacts of legal age restrictions on alcohol/tobacco use, gun control legislation, mental health outcomes linked to social security policies, and socioeconomic factors influencing crime and public health.
