Jeffrey Campbell

Jeffrey Campbell is Full Professor of Econometrics and Operations Research at Tilburg University. He holds a PhD in Economics from Northwestern University and previously taught at University of Chicago and University of Rochester.

His research bridges macroeconomics and industrial organization, examining monetary policy transmission, household consumption patterns, and entrepreneurial dynamics. Campbell has developed influential models analyzing how central banks can improve economic outcomes through forward guidance, especially when interest rates approach the zero lower bound.

As a former economist at Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, he contributed policy memos for Federal Open Market Committee deliberations. His current work includes developing the Chicago Fed DSGE model and investigating how liquidity constraints affect middle-class consumption behavior.

Campbell teaches graduate macroeconomics with emphasis on monetary aspects of business cycles and undergraduate statistics/econometrics.
