معرفی
Jeffrey Brantingham is a Professor in the Department of Anthropology and Archaeology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). His research focuses on Paleolithic studies, particularly the analysis of stone raw material procurement strategies and the colonization of extreme environments such as the Tibetan Plateau. As a faculty member at a land-grant institution, he is affiliated with UCLA's International Institute, which acknowledges the traditional land caretakers of the Los Angeles basin.
Research Focus
Brantingham's work combines archaeological theory with environmental and computational approaches to understand prehistoric human behavior. His publications highlight studies on Upper Paleolithic transitions, resource acquisition models, and Late Pleistocene adaptations in high-altitude and arid regions of China and Tibet. This includes analyzing how hunter-gatherers colonized the Tibetan Plateau and reconstructing paleoenvironmental changes through desert lake sediments.Collaborations and Publications
He has collaborated extensively with scholars like Steven L. Kuhn, David B. Madsen, and John W. Olsen on cross-regional archaeological projects. His 2003-2004 works cover topics ranging from cultural evolution in Western Europe to environmental changes in NW China, reflecting an interdisciplinary approach to understanding human prehistory.۰مقاله منتشرشده
