Jeffrey A. Stevens is an Associate Teaching Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of History at the University of Missouri. He specializes in Ancient History, Roman Archaeology, and Material Culture Studies. Stevens co-directs the Monteleone Sabino Archaeological Field School in Italy, focusing on hands-on student training in archaeology. His research explores Roman trade networks, slavery, and gladiatorial culture. He has consulted for major TV series like 'Spartacus' and 'Roman Empire: Reign of Blood.' Stevens has received awards including the Provost’s Junior Faculty Teaching Award and leads academic service roles such as chairing the Fordyce Mitchel Lecture Series.
Education: PhD in History (UCLA, 2014), MA in History (UCLA, 2009; University of Oregon, 2007).
