Collaborating with Tina Harriott, he has published work on solutions in 2+1 and 3+1 dimensional spacetimes, including singularities and scalar field models. Williams is a member of the Winnipeg Institute for Theoretical Physics and the International Society on General Relativity & Gravitation.
He teaches courses ranging from introductory calculus to advanced topology. His academic qualifications include a BSc (Hons) and PhD from the University of Birmingham. Beyond academia, Williams is an avid hiker, traveler, and writer, with publications in science fiction and historical fiction.
