Jeff Underwood

Jeff Underwood is a Professor in the Computer Animation and Game Development Program at California State University, Chico, within the College of Communication and Education. His office is located in THMA 239, with office hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Beyond academia, Underwood is the founding Partner/Creative Director/Software Engineer of Mutant Entertainment Studios, an independent game development studio established in 2006.

His research focuses on serious games for practical training applications, particularly in disaster management. He leads a $200,000 USGS-funded project developing 'Aftershock Forecaster' - a training simulation for emergency managers that teaches earthquake aftershock response through immersive city scenarios. This interdisciplinary collaboration involves:
