Jeff Leek

Jeff Leek, PhD serves as Vice President and Chief Data Officer at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, where he also holds a professorship in the Biostatistics Program within the Public Health Sciences Division. He is a member of the Translational Data Science Integrated Research Center (TDS IRC) and holds the J. Orin Edson Foundation Endowed Chair.

Dr. Leek's research focuses on developing statistical methods, software, and data resources for analyzing massive-scale genomic and biomedical data. His educational contributions include crafting online open courses in data science that have enrolled millions of learners worldwide. He has also partnered with community-based nonprofits to leverage data science education for economic and public health development.

As Chief Data Officer, he leads efforts to shape and implement Fred Hutch's integrated data science enterprise, fostering partnerships within Seattle's data science and technology ecosystem. His goal is to ensure Hutch researchers can access field-leading computational resources to advance their science while creating tools and services that help better collect, manage, use, and share data.
