Jeff Harden

Jeff Harden is the Andrew J. McKenna Family College Professor in the Department of Political Science and Concurrent Professor in the Department of Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Notre Dame. He co-directs the Representation and Politics in Legislatures Lab and serves as co-editor of Legislative Studies Quarterly and Cambridge Studies in American Legislatures.

Research Interests: Harden specializes in American politics and political methodology. His work explores legislative institutions, political representation, public policy diffusion, network inference, and causal inference. He investigates how policies spread across states and how legislative transparency affects democratic accountability.
