Jeff Hammer

Jeff Hammer is a faculty member at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) with over a decade of teaching experience at both college and high school levels. He serves as the Assistant Dean of Academics for the School of Filmmaking and actively works as a freelance filmmaker with multiple projects in development.

• MFA in Screenwriting from the University of Southern California
• BS in English and Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison

Jeff emphasizes practical learning and iterative writing, encapsulated in his mantras: "Learn by doing" and "To write is to rewrite." His career spans producing, co-writing, and consulting on feature films and documentaries, including work recognized in Japan and at international festivals.
