معرفی
Jeetain Mittal is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University, with a joint appointment in the Department of Chemistry. His research focuses on biomolecular self-assembly processes, particularly protein phase separation and nanoparticle superlattice design.
- Education: B.Tech. (Punjab Technical University, 2000), M.Tech. (Indian Institute of Technology at Kanpur, 2002), Ph.D. (University of Texas at Austin, 2007), Postdoctoral Fellow (Laboratory of Chemical Physics, NIH, 2007-2009).
His work bridges computational biology and chemical engineering, with a focus on understanding molecular interactions in protein condensates and designing temperature-responsive nanoparticle superlattices. Recent studies explore phosphorylation effects, RNA polymerase II co-partitioning, and sequence-dependent phase separation mechanisms.
- Awards: Impact Award in Computational Molecular Science and Engineering (2018), Department of Energy Early CAREER Award (2015), Allan P. Colburn Award (2013), Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship (2014).
His research leverages atomistic and coarse-grained simulations to probe biomolecular condensates and develop models for disordered proteins, while also advancing nanoparticle assembly technologies.
