Jean Price

Dr. Jean Price is a Research Professor of Accounting and Chair of the Department of Accountancy and Legal Environment at Marshall University's Lewis College of Business since July 2019. She previously served as Associate Dean of Accreditation and Strategic Initiatives. Holding a PhD from Indiana University (1992), her career spans over three decades in academia and professional accounting.

Her research focuses on technology trust & governance, audit committee charters, and accounting education innovation. Notable contributions include frameworks for board-level IT governance and comparative studies of online vs traditional accounting education. She has published in top journals like the Journal of Information Systems and Journal of Strategic Information Systems.

Dr. Price received the 2017 West Virginia Society of CPAs Accounting Educator Award. Her teaching portfolio includes courses like Accounting Professionalism, Intermediate Accounting I, and Auditing AIS. She actively contributes to departmental strategic initiatives and accreditation processes.
