Jean-Michel Muller is a Research Director at CNRS, posted at Laboratoire LIP (common to CNRS, ENS Lyon, INRIA, and Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1). He is a member of the Pascaline team, a follow-up of the ARENAIRE and ARIC teams. He serves as Associate Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing. His research focuses on computer arithmetic, including floating-point arithmetic, algorithms, architectures, and elementary functions. He has authored influential books such as Handbook of Floating-Point Arithmetic and Elementary Functions: Algorithms and Implementation.
