Jean-Marie NEDELEC

Professor Jean-Marie NEDELEC is a faculty member at the Clermont-Ferrand Institute of Chemistry (ICCF) within Clermont Auvergne INP, part of Université Clermont Auvergne (UCA). He holds the rank of Professor since 2010 and is a member of the University Institute of France. His research focuses on soft chemistry, sol-gel processes, bioceramics, and nanostructured materials for biomedical and energy applications. He leads the Materials for Health (MPS) team and contributes to the Reconstruction and Tissue Engineering (RIT) research theme.

Education:

• Habilitation to Supervise Research (2003), Clermont 2 University
• Doctorate in Materials Science (1998), USTL Lille
• Engineering Diploma from ENSCL and DEA in Spectrochemistry (1995), USTL

Research interests include hydroxyapatite-based biomaterials, bioactive glasses, mesoporous oxides, and cellulose aerogels for medical applications. His work also explores phase transitions in confined environments and energy storage systems using lyophobic materials.

Scientific Recognition:

• Recipient of the DR Ulrich Award (2007) for Sol-Gel Science contributions
