معرفی
Jean-Marc Allain is a Professor at the Mechanics Department & Solid Mechanics Laboratory (M3DISIM team) of École Polytechnique in Palaiseau, France. His role combines experimental and theoretical research in biological tissue mechanics.
- 2017: Professor, LMS, École Polytechnique
- 2006-2017: Associate Professor, LMS, École Polytechnique
- 2005-2006: Research Associate at Boston University
Research Interests
His work focuses on multiscale mechanics of biological tissues, particularly how mechanical loadings transfer from macroscopic (body-level) to microscopic (cellular) scales, inducing tissue remodeling. This includes studies on tissues with sparse cellular content such as dermis, cornea, bone, wood, and biofilms.
Education
- PhD in Theoretical Biophysics (2005), LPS, ENS Paris, advised by Prof. Martine Ben Amar
- MSc in Particle and Nuclear Physics (2002), Université d'Orsay
- Engineering Degree in Fundamental and Applied Physics (2002), ESPCI, Paris
