Jay Sakashita

Jay Sakashita is a Professor of Religion within the Division of Arts and Humanities at Leeward Community College, part of the University of Hawai‘i system. He serves as the Religion Discipline Coordinator and contributes to institutional governance through the General Education Foundations Board and Innovation Center for Teaching and Learning Advisory Committee.

His academic foundation includes:

• BA and MA from University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa
• PhD from University of Stirling

Professor Sakashita's scholarly focus centers on Religious Studies and Theology, with expertise spanning Comparative Religion, World Religions, and Religion-Society interactions.
