Javier Bayod is a Lecturer in the Mechanics Engineering Department at the University of Zaragoza. He holds a Ph.D. in Continuous Media Mechanics and Structures (2006) and an M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering (1999), both from the University of Zaragoza. His research focuses on biomechanical systems, particularly the wear analysis of orthopedic prosthetics such as knee and hip replacements. He conducted postdoctoral research at l’École de Technologie Supérieure in Montreal, Canada (University of Quebec), studying resurfacing hip prostheses. Currently affiliated with the CIBER-BBN network and the GEMM research group, he has been teaching at the University of Zaragoza since 2002. His recent work includes supervising doctoral theses and contributing to initiatives like the European Researchers Night 2020. Notably, his student Quercus Hernández received the SEMNI best thesis award in 2024.
