Javad Tafreshi

Javad Tafreshi is the Executive Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Professor at Marshall B. Ketchum University (MBKU). Previously, he served as Director of the PGY2 Cardiology Pharmacy Residency Program and Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Loma Linda University School of Pharmacy. He holds tenure and professorial rank from Midwestern University College of Pharmacy-Glendale and began his academic career as an Assistant Professor at the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 1997.

Dr. Tafreshi earned his PharmD from the University of Southern California (1992), followed by PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency (Tucson, AZ) and PGY2 Specialty Cardiology Pharmacy Residency (Iowa City, IA). In 2001, he pioneered the first American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP)-accredited PGY2 Cardiology Pharmacy Residency Program in the U.S.

His professional contributions include leadership in pharmacy education and clinical cardiology, with a focus on advancing residency training and heart disease management. He is a Fellow of the American Heart Association (AHA) and reviews AHA continuing education programs.
